I guess this is a little quick fix for people who like me, have a bit of a sweet tooth and aren’t a fan of grapefruit on it’s own!
This is so simple, really, really simple. Something to have for a warm breakfast or dessert.
- Sugar (white or brown)
- Grapefruit half
- Coconut rum (optional)
Pre-heat the grill on a medium-high heat. Sprinkle the grapefruit half with sugar, I used 4 teaspoons because I have a very sweet tooth (naughty)! I’ve made this before with 2 and has been just as nice, just tangier. Grill under in the oven for 10-15minutes.
Tips: Brown sugar caramelises better but keep an eye out or it might burn! Experiment with amounts of sugar till you find whats the right amount for you. Use a serrated spoon to serve if you have one.
I used a 15ml bar measure to pour a shot of Coconut Rum into the grapefruit before grilling, it’s a nice little kick!
Tips: You can ALWAYS add more rum.
There’s really nothing to it, but it’s quickly become a favourite of mine. The grapefruit is much more sweet and rum is just always good with me. Enjoy.
