When it comes to taking a holiday, a road trip sounds fun! Just think how far Route 66 stretches when it comes to the expanse of the United States. I hope I have the chance to plan one soon, they seem like a viable holiday option – even if you’re on a budget. iI’s time to turn your attention to something a little more off-road.

The Best Routes

When in a car, hitting every site you’ve ever dreamed of isn’t going to be too much trouble. The four wheels that can constantly churn compared to your own poor two legs should be put to good use, and there’s plenty of roads to practice your cruise control down. Not to mention, trying your luck on the infamous ‘Death Road’ is going to be one of the highlights of your life!

For something more casual, try out the Salar De Uyuni in Bolivia. It’s the world’s largest salt flat, and thus shouldn’t give you much trouble as long as you have an off-road drive to your name. But don’t forget the most popular tourist-y places either! They’re attractive for a reason, and you can make a couple of fast friends here if you’re getting lonely behind the wheel. Check into the Courtyard Hermosillo to experience the best Mexico has to offer in the near vicinity and then take to the inner city roads as well!

So Much Great Food

And taste combinations you’ve never thought of before! We all know the burrito and the enchilada when it’s at home, but have you ever tried one in its true art form? Locally sourced and fresh ingredients, sold by vendors with generations of family experience. And it all wraps up to give you the best bite you’ve ever chowed down on!

Don’t worry, there’s going to be something for everyone. If you’re driving along the more coastal regions, remember to stop off for a spot of seafood. Dig into a dish of Ceviche, which we rarely see back home, spiced with some of the hottest flavours to offset the cool tang. Or if you like your dessert, try out some Brigadeiro to really fulfil your chocolate cravings.

There’s a lot you can do and see when it comes to carving your own way through a holiday destination. Take the chance on the next trip away, and don’t be afraid to spend some money!
