I have a slight obsession with primers and any product with the words ‘mattifying.’ My skin type is fairly oily, so when I spotted Gosh’s Prime ‘n Set I couldn’t resist. I also picked up the anti-wrinkle primer (completely by accident) as I was looking for one I have tried before. But on both parts, I’m fairly impressed!
Gosh Prime ‘n Set
Gosh Prime ‘n Set is a primer and mattifying setting powder – you can’t beat a good 2-in-1 product. I’ve used it as a base, which I do think works fairly well, however for best results (for me personally) it works a dream with a liquid primer + the powder before applying make-up.
It’s a loose white powder but don’t let that fool you. It blends incredibly well in my opinion, especially on top of make-up. I’ve only had it for a week or so but I already feel like I can’t live without it!
Gosh Velvet Touch Anti-Wrinkle Foundation Primer
Again, I managed to pick this up by accident, I was actually going to try one of their other primers but ended up with this one!
For the first few pumps I found that the product was a little too runny, but it’s been much better now I’ve used it a few times.
I do think you need to be careful depending on the type of foundation you use. E.g. I’ve found this doesn’t mix well with my cream-to-powder type foundations.
However, it does work well with my liquid foundations and helps them to stay put for longer – great now it’s starting to get sunny! It has a nice silky feel and I would recommend it just for use without make-up if you need to nip to the shops in a hurry!
All in all it is a good product, considering it’s something you can pick up from a drugstore. I do love Gosh primers but next time I’ll make sure I get the right one ;)
If you’re looking to pick anything up from a store like Superdrug or Boots I’d go for the Prime ‘n Set hands down!
Let me know if you try ’em.
