Of all the rooms in the house, our bedrooms are the spaces that we tend to spend the most time in. We may not entertain our guests in them or eat dinner in them, but they’re where we start and end the day. When you look around your bedroom, do you like what you see? If the answer is no, then it’s most definitely time for an update.
I look around my bedroom and love the space I’ve created for myself, and you deserve to feel the same. It’s not about spending a lot of money, creating a bedroom that you love is about finding cute, quirky ways to make more of the space. It’s about putting your personal stamp on the place and making it somewhere that you actually want to spend time in.

Ask yourself what inspires you?
Think back to the most amazing place you’ve ever stayed, and ask yourself why it was so amazing. Was it the way that the room was laid out? Did the colour scheme make it an incredible place? What was it that made it such an amazing space? It could also be worth getting inspired by browsing sites like Pinterest – there are some amazing ideas on here and on other photo sites.

Whether there is a hotel room that you love or a picture online that appeals to you, attempt to mimic parts of its design in your room. Look at what the main features of the room are, the colour scheme, and the style, and you should be able to recreate it.

Create a feature wall

A quick and cost-effective way to change the look and feel of a space is with a feature wall. Whether you choose to use paint, wallpaper or wood to do this, it doesn’t matter. You’d be amazed at how much difference adding a stylish accent wall to your room can make. If you’re stuck for inspiration, you can find plenty of ideas on interior design blogs. As well as in home design magazines.

Revamp your bed

Every room needs a focal point. In a bedroom, the focal point should always be the bed. If your bed isn’t all that impressive, it’s time to revamp it. This could mean upcycling the frame with a coat of paint, or it could mean investing in a new one. Depending, of course, on what your budget is for the project. If you’re choosing a new bed frame, a four poster bed is always a good choice, because of how luxurious it looks.

To make the bed look more luxurious, make as comfortable and cosy as possible. Hotel beds always look wonderfully plush, don’t they? To recreate the comfort that hotel beds offer, swap your mattress for a memory foam design. Or, if your budget won’t stretch that far, invest in a mattress topper instead. To learn more about the best option to opt for, use online mattress toppers support and advice guides.

Become a minimalist

A space that is cluttered with junk is never going to look and feel like a luxurious hotel room. So it’s important to become a minimalist and get rid of anything that you no longer need. Keep the surfaces in your room free from clutter and instead pop a few cute, quirky accessories on them.

Things like candles, fairy lights, and stylish ornaments are ideal. Potted plants can also be a great addition to your bedroom. Just make sure not to overcrowd your surfaces, as otherwise the space may look cluttered.

So there you have it, some of my favourite cute, quirky ways to make more of your bedroom and transform it into a space you love. Hopefully, the above ideas will inspire you to make your bedroom the most incredible space.
