new years resolutions

As you already know, I have my 30 before 30 list already planned out, but I wanted to create a few small goals for 2015. As we are already half way through the year (OMG – really?!), I thought I’d note down a few things that I want to achieve before NYE. I always find that it is fun to make lists of things I want to do. After all, it helps to motivate me, and I hope it inspires you guys to do the same. Okay, here goes.

  1. Enhance my cooking skills

I love cooking, which is why I always try to improve my skills when I get a chance. I’ve been checking out classes, and there are schools like the Chalet Cookery School where I can try a few courses. Obviously, I don’t want to be a professional chef, but the more I know about cooking, the better I will be. Check back with me in a few months and see where I’m at with this goal!

  1. Learn a foreign language

Learning a foreign language is a beautiful thing, which is why it is on my list. I have tried apps like Duolingo before now, but they haven’t worked for me. I think that the best way to learn a new language is to find a native speaker. That is why I want to find a Spanish person. Once I have a tandem partner, I think it will be much easier to pick up the basics. Wish me luck!

  1. Do 10 hours of charity work

We should all give something back, which is why I am going to volunteer to help out people. I have been looking at a few different charities in Leeds, and I hope that I can find one that needs my help. For example, I might like to volunteer at an animal shelter or a homeless centre. If you know about any places that need help, do let me know.

  1. Visit Venice

Venice is a beautiful place, and I am just dying to go. I’ve traveled quite a lot but have yet to go to this wonderful city. I am currently looking at apartments in the area so that I can visit it for a week or so. There are loads of places I want to visit, and I often find it hard to choose where to go. Right now, though, I am pretty sure that I want to check out this place.

  1. Learn to make the perfect coffee

Coffee is delicious, and so I need to learn how to make it. There are some cafes that run barista training days so I think that I might attend one. That way, I can make the perfect latte for my friends when they come over to my place. I have heard that it isn’t that hard, and I am intrigued to learn a cool new skill.

  1. Host a house party

There ain’t no party like Sarah’s house party (probably…). It has been ages since I hosted a house party, and I just can’t wait to start planning one. Since summer is almost here, I am gearing up for the party season. The year, I want to invite all my closest friends over for a massive party. Sorry neighbors.

Planning the year gives you a chance to focus on what you want to do. I hope that I get a chance to complete everything on my list. If I do all these things, I know the rest of 2015 will be amazing. Thank you for reading my list. I can’t wait to hear what you think about it all :)
