Not long ago, I wandered into trinity kitchen in Leeds and was invited to try Rola Wala’s delicious new menu.
I tried both the rice bowl and the naan wrap. Both options can be veggie/vegan-friendly AND you can grab a tasty rice bowl for under 500cal (perfect for those of you on your yearly Jan health kicks).
All the food is prepared fresh in front of you. The incredibly friendly staff guided me through the menu and I ended up with a little bit of everything!!
“Made from scratch using only the highest quality fresh ingredients. Flavour Fuelled Indian Street Food – an epic combination of spicy, savoury, sweet and sour – combining into something incredible!”
On the meat-eater side, the grilled chicken tikka was tender, delicious and full of flavor. The lamb was a step up on the spice chain but still okay for me! I also had a little beef – again tender, delicious and morish.
For the veggies out there, you can get plenty filled up on tasty chickpeas and cauliflower rice (it’s so good!).
The rice bowls are huge and so so filling! Perfect for a big lunch or an after work treat. On the top of the bowl, it was sprinkled with Corn Kernal Crunch – not something I’ve ever tried before but I absolutely loved it!
On both the bowl and the wrap, the mango sauce added the perfect level of sweetness, with the yogurt sauce to cool down the spices.
The roll over the rice bowl was definitely my favorite. Wrapped in soft naan PACKED with Paneer cheese – one of my favorite things! It’s like halloumi – but not as salty. Yum.
Best of all… for every naan roll sold in any permanent Rola Wala restaurant locations, they provide a school meal to a child living in poverty with One Feeds Two. Lovely!
